Gabon accelerates infrastructure and utility access projects

Gabon is undergoing significant infrastructure and utility developments. The construction firm Le Roi des chantiers, a subsidiary of Consortium JETA Groupe led by Joseph Trésor Agano Elemba, has completed several major projects in under eight months. These include the simultaneous construction of approximately ten Gab’Oil service stations across the country and progress on a Public Treasury building in Malinga that had been pending for 20 years.

In parallel, the Gabonese government has announced the second phase of the ‘One Gabonese, one meter’ program. This initiative includes the procurement of 157,000 water and electricity meters to improve household access to essential services. Additionally, 4,000 solar kits will be distributed to 400 pilot villages in rural areas to provide electricity to locations currently lacking grid access. Philippe Tonangoye, Minister of Water Access and Energy, stated that priority will be given to citizens who have already paid for meters but have not yet received them.
