Gabon Aligns National Development Plan with African Union's Agenda 2063

Gabon’s government has committed to aligning its National Growth and Development Plan (PNCD) with the African Union’s Agenda 2063. The five‑day workshop held in Libreville from 27 to 31 July brought together the Ministry of Planning and Prospective, led by Minister Louise Pierrette Mvono, the AU mission, UNDP representatives, public officials, private sector actors, civil society, academia and the media. Participants compared the PNCD with the AU’s second Decade of Implementation plan, examined coordination mechanisms and drafted recommendations to strengthen monitoring, clarify responsibilities and enhance citizen participation. The final recommendations call for improved evaluation systems and continued stakeholder consultations to ensure coherent implementation of the continent‑wide development vision in Gabon’s policies and strategies.
