Gabon government announces infrastructure projects and 2027 budget priorities
Gabon's government has outlined significant economic and infrastructure plans for the coming period. Ministers Emmanuel Eyeghe Nze and Zenaba Gninga Chaning presented a 2027 finance bill request totaling approximately 13.82 billion FCFA to the National Assembly. This funding is intended to support industry, commerce, and entrepreneurship, with a focus on diversifying the economy, increasing national production, and promoting the local transformation of natural resources.
In a separate urban development initiative, the government will begin clearing land for road expansions in the Grand Libreville area starting November 4, 2026. The project affects 270 buildings across the Okala and Lac Bleu–Diba-Diba axes. To mitigate the impact on residents, the government has promised financial relocation assistance, the provision of land parcels in Malibé, and support for student transfers to new schools.
