Gabon installs new regional health and hospital directors
New leadership has been installed at several key health institutions in Gabon. In the Ogooué-Ivindo province, Dr. Julien Meyong Bekalé has officially assumed his role as the new Regional Director of Health (DRS) following his appointment by the Council of Ministers. He succeeds Thierry Bayito Mokoko, who has been promoted to Regional Director of Health in Ogooué-Lolo. Additionally, Emmanuel Badho Mengome Abiagha has taken over as the Director General of the Omar Bongo Ondimba Regional Hospital of Makokou (CHROBOM), succeeding Dr. Julien Meyong Bekalé.
In Lambaréné, Franklin Ntsagamba Ngouomi has been installed as the new director of the Georges-Rawiri Regional Hospital (CHRGRL). Previously the Regional Director of Health for Centre-Moyen-Ogooué, Ngouomi succeeds Dr. Dieudonné Ibiatsi. The appointment of an administrative profile rather than a medical one for the hospital's leadership aligns with recent directives from President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema regarding the management of health facilities.
