Gabon seeks to expand partnership with China beyond economic ties

A Gabonese delegation, led by Guy Bertrand Mapangou, president of the Economic, Social, Environmental and Cultural Council (CESEC), is participating in the China-Africa Economic and Social Forum in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province. The forum, held from September 14 to 16, focuses on global governance and building a shared community for humanity.

During the event, Mapangou met with Wang Dongfeng, president of the Chinese Economic and Social Council, to discuss strengthening bilateral ties. The discussions aimed to expand the partnership beyond traditional sectors like infrastructure, trade, and natural resources to include political, cultural, and social dimensions, as well as inclusive development and governance.
