Gabon seeks to modernize transport infrastructure using Senegal model

Gabon's Minister of Transport, Ulrich Manfoumbi Manfoumbi, met with his Senegalese counterpart, Abdoul Ahad Ndiaye, in Dakar to discuss the modernization of transport infrastructure. Gabon aims to model its own transport restructuring on Senegal's successful frameworks, specifically citing the management of Blaise Diagne International Airport and the development of Senegal's road and rail networks.

The discussions focused on terrestrial and aerial connections, the harmonization of regulatory and security protocols to meet international standards, and the sharing of technical expertise. Key areas for cooperation include airport security, technical operations, and the training of sector professionals. Through this partnership, Gabon intends to upgrade its facilities to improve national traffic management and support the reorganization of public transport through enhanced multimodality.
