Gabriel Bortoleto commits to long-term Audi F1 project
Formula 1 driver Gabriel Bortoleto has expressed a commitment to the long-term development of the Audi F1 project, prioritizing patience over immediate competitive success. Despite peers such as Kimi Antonelli and Isack Hadjar achieving podium finishes, Bortoleto is focused on helping build Audi into a winning team rather than seeking a seat with a more established constructor.
Bortoleto noted the difficulty of transitioning from junior categories, where he was accustomed to winning, to Formula 1, where current technical limitations prevent fighting for top positions. He emphasized that every driver has a unique path, stating, “I have to have patience. Each one has their path. We will see in twenty years how we end up.”
To support his growth within the project, Bortoleto is working with Mattia Binotto, who provides guidance based on his experience building championship-winning teams. The Brazilian driver aims to be prepared to capitalize on the opportunity once Audi delivers a competitive car.
