Gabriel Deck gains Spanish citizenship, freeing non‑EU roster spot for Real Madrid

Argentine international Gabriel Deck completed his naturalisation process on 28 July and was granted Spanish citizenship. The change means he is now classified as an EU player in Spain’s ACB league, removing him from the club’s limited non‑EU quota.

Real Madrid basketball can therefore retain its two allowed non‑EU slots and has the flexibility to sign another foreign player without breaching league rules. Deck, who joined Real Madrid in 2018, briefly played in the NBA before returning in 2022, remains under contract until the summer of 2028 and is expected to continue as a key member of the squad.
