Gabriel Diallo withdraws from Davis Cup match against France

Gabriel Diallo has withdrawn from Canada’s upcoming Davis Cup second-round qualifying match against France due to a leg injury. The injury, sustained during the National Bank Open in Montreal, has prevented Diallo from competing in recent events, including the US Open.

Tennis Canada has named Keegan Rice as Diallo’s replacement. Rice, a 20-year-old ranked 576th globally, will join the Canadian squad which also includes Félix Auger-Aliassime, Liam Draxl, and Duncan Chan. The competition is scheduled to take place this Friday and Saturday at the Centre Vidéotron in Quebec.

In a statement, Diallo expressed his disappointment, noting that the Davis Cup is an event he looks forward to every year. He indicated his intention to attend the matches in Quebec to support his teammates while continuing his rehabilitation.
