Gabriel Garko officially adopts stage name for legal use

Italian television actor Gabriel Garko, known for his roles in successful Canale 5 series such as ‘L’Onere e il rispetto’, has officially adopted his stage name for bureaucratic purposes.

Born Dario Gabriel Olivieri in 1972, the actor chose the pseudonym Garko early in his career. The name is a tribute to his family roots, combining his middle name, Gabriel, with a variation of his mother Isabella Garchio’s surname.

In 2016, while co-hosting the Sanremo Festival, Garko revealed that he had officially changed his name on civil registry documents to match his professional identity to resolve issues involving checks and legal documents signed under his stage name.
