Gabriel Jesus scores first goal for FC Barcelona

Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus has begun his tenure at FC Barcelona, recently scoring his first goal for the club in the Champions League during a match against Feyenoord. Despite his productive start, including eight goals and three assists across six matches (five in LaLiga and one in the Champions League), his playing time has been limited due to the high performance of teammates such as Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.

In an interview with the program Tot Costa, Jesus expressed his intention to compete for more minutes, stating, “Rapha is playing and he deserves it, but I am going to compete and wait for my opportunity.” He emphasized his ambition to contribute to important matches rather than just scoring in lopsided victories.

Reflecting on his personal journey, Jesus has also shared details regarding his upbringing. He spoke about the impact of his father's absence during his childhood and the sacrifices made by his mother, who worked long hours cleaning houses to provide for her children. This background shaped his resilience as he progressed through Palmeiras and Manchester City before joining Barcelona on a contract lasting until June 2029.
