Gabriel Martinelli joins Al-Hilal from Arsenal in record sale

Gabriel Martinelli has completed a high-profile transfer from Arsenal to the Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal. The deal is valued at approximately 70 million euros (£60 million), marking the most expensive sale in Arsenal's history.

Martinelli, a 25-year-old Brazilian forward, signed a contract through 2030 and has been assigned the number 7 shirt. His move follows a period of reduced playing time under Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, during which he made only 11 Premier League starts last season.

Martinelli made his debut for Al-Hilal less than 24 hours after the move was finalized, appearing as a second-half substitute in a 2-0 Riyadh derby victory over Al-Shabab. Following the match, the forward expressed excitement about the new chapter, noting that he will require time to adapt to his new surroundings and teammates.
