Gabriel Martinelli nears record €65m move from Arsenal to Al-Hilal

Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli is nearing a transfer to Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal in a deal expected to be worth approximately €65 million (£56 million). The 25-year-old Brazilian has reportedly agreed to personal terms, including a lucrative long-term contract with a significant annual salary. Al-Hilal has already scheduled a medical for the player.

The move marks a record sale for Arsenal, surpassing their previous high of £35 million for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Martinelli, who joined the Gunners in 2019, has seen reduced playing time recently, competing for positions with Leandro Trossard and Christos Tzolis.

Arsenal is actively seeking a replacement for the left-sided attacker before the transfer window closes. Potential targets include Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid, as well as interest in Marcus Rashford from Manchester United and Endrick from Real Madrid. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has stated that any final decision regarding Martinelli's departure will be made with the agreement of all involved parties.
