Gabriel Martinelli transfers from Arsenal to Al-Hilal for 70 million euros

Brazilian forward Gabriel Martinelli has transferred from Arsenal to the Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal in a deal worth 70 million euros (approximately R$ 416 million). The transaction marks the largest sale in Arsenal's history. Martinelli, who spent seven years with the English club, has signed a four-year contract with Al-Hilal.

Martinelli's agent, Marcos Casseb, stated that the move was a consensual decision, noting that the player's cycle at Arsenal had concluded following the team's Premier League title. Casseb highlighted that the deal was financially beneficial for both the player and Arsenal as the club undergoes squad restructuring.

The transfer also carries significant financial implications for Brazilian clubs. Ituano is projected to receive approximately R$ 49 million due to its 10% stake in the player's economic rights, plus an additional 2% through FIFA's solidarity mechanism. These funds are expected to be paid in four installments through 2029. Additionally, Corinthians may receive roughly R$ 2 million via the solidarity mechanism.
