Gabriel Martins' new film 'Vicentina pede desculpas' to release on Netflix

Director Gabriel Martins is set to release his new film, ‘Vicentina pede desculpas’, following his previous success with ‘Marte Um’. The drama, starring Rejane Faria, explores themes of grief and human relationships through the story of a mother forced to apologize to families affected by a traffic accident caused by her son.

The film is scheduled for a theatrical release in selected Brazilian cinemas on November 5, followed by a global release on Netflix on November 20 in over 190 countries. Before its wide release, the production will participate in major international film festivals, including the Toronto International Film Festival, where it is the only Brazilian feature in the Platform section, and the San Sebastián International Film Festival.

Martins, who also serves as his own editor, noted that the partnership with Netflix will help provide a broad reach for the film’s dense and specific themes, which are deeply rooted in the cinematic identity of Minas Gerais.
