Gabriel Medina targets fourth world title and discusses family goals
Brazilian surfer Gabriel Medina has expressed his desire to become a father and continue winning world titles. Following a period of recovery from a serious left shoulder injury that kept him sidelined in 2025, the three-time world champion is targeting a fourth title at the Pipeline event in Hawaii.
Medina, who secured a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics, is currently ranked fifth in the standings. He is working with coach Adriano de Souza, known as Mineirinho, to prepare for upcoming competitions. Beyond his athletic goals, Medina discussed his personal life, noting his desire to build a family and his intention to compete in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
In addition to his professional surfing career, Medina is expanding his entrepreneurial presence. He recently launched the YouTube channel ‘Sal’ in partnership with Pedro Scooby, Gui Khury, and Henrique Avancini, which focuses on the lifestyle and behind-the-scenes aspects of extreme sports.
