Gabriela Cristea addresses gender roles and school gift traditions

Romanian television presenter Gabriela Cristea has addressed social commentary regarding household dynamics and school traditions.

Responding to online criticism after sharing footage of her partner, Tavi Clonda, assisting with kitchen tasks, Cristea defended the importance of shared domestic responsibilities. She criticized outdated views on gender roles, stating that men participating in housework should not be mocked. Cristea emphasized that in their family, chores are handled flexibly based on who is available or tired, rather than following strict gender-based rules.

Additionally, Cristea shared her views on the practice of parents collecting money for teacher gifts at the start of the school year. While she supports symbolic gestures of appreciation, such as flowers or chocolates, she expressed concern over gifts becoming excessive obligations. She noted reports of parents collecting funds for expensive items like jewelry or appliances, arguing that such practices move away from simple courtesy and toward public collections.
