Gabriela Muñoz reports death threats and seeks government protection

Gabriela Muñoz Olaya, a content creator and political activist with ties to former President Gustavo Petro, has reported new death threats against her life and integrity. Following her participation in recent marches in Bogotá, Muñoz shared intimidating images on social media depicting firearms and ammunition, alongside messages containing insults and warnings.

Muñoz stated that these intimidations are motivated by her political positions and have begun to affect her family's peace and safety. She has filed complaints with the Fiscalía General de la Nación but has questioned the effectiveness of the response thus far.

The activist has formally requested security guarantees from the Colombian government and President Abelardo de la Espriella. Muñoz emphasized that while she is not afraid, she refuses to normalize the risk to her physical integrity as a consequence of defending her convictions.
