Gabriela Serrats discusses transition from fashion design to fine arts

Artist Gabriela Serrats discusses her transition from the luxury fashion industry to fine arts. After studying Fine Arts and spending a decade living in London and Paris, Serrats developed a career in design departments for high-end fashion houses, including Chloé, Nina Ricci, and McQueen.

Serrats views the process of designing garments as being fundamentally similar to creating a painting, noting that both require concept, functionality, and the ability to convey a story. Her shift toward exclusive artistic creation was influenced by her time spent painting at home with her son, leading to the development of her collection titled ‘mother&son’.
