Gabrovo residents petition for security amid reports of vandalism
More than 600 residents of the Bichkinya neighborhood in Gabrovo have signed a petition demanding increased security following reports of systemic harassment and vandalism. Residents claim they have faced threats, property damage, and physical aggression, including being targeted with stones and apples thrown at their windows.
The disturbances are reportedly centered around a specific property on Kosta Evtimov Street, where 22 individuals are registered. Local residents have reported witnessing alcohol-related scandals, fights, and aggressive behavior on the streets.
Deputy Mayor Maria Yozova stated that the municipality supports the citizens' calls for peace and security. Authorities have initiated investigations into several issues, including address registration, illegal parking, improper waste disposal, and animal husbandry practices. The petition has been forwarded to the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior and social services. A meeting between all relevant institutions is scheduled for September 4 to discuss necessary measures.
