GAC Group wins 8 awards at China Automotive Engineering Society Science and Technology Awards

GAC Group has received eight awards at the 2026 China Automotive Engineering Society Science and Technology Awards ceremony held in Suzhou, Jiangsu. The recognition includes four first prizes for technological progress in key areas such as automotive chip design, high-efficiency electric drives, automated driving safety, and integrated body design.

In the field of automotive chips, GAC led a project that established an independent development and verification path, collaborating with 105 partners to implement over 1,000 domestic chips across nearly 400 models. This includes the Hyper GT Climbing Edition, China’s first intelligent connected new energy vehicle with 100% domestically designed chips.

The group also achieved a breakthrough in electric drives using amorphous alloy stators and carbon fiber rotors. This technology allows for a motor efficiency of 99.03% and a power density nearly three times the industry average. Implementation of this technology has resulted in a 4% reduction in energy consumption and an increase in driving range by 30 to 50 kilometers for equipped vehicles.

Additional honors were awarded for passenger vehicle safety technologies developed in collaboration with Tsinghua University and for advancements in automated driving safety governance and intelligent body design manufacturing.
