GAC imports 3,600 vehicles to Brazil using flat‑rack system

Chinese automaker GAC received a new shipment of about 3,600 vehicles at the Port of Vitória in Espírito Santo, Brazil. The consignment includes the GS3 and GS4 SUVs, the electric Aion V and Aion UT models, and the first units of a six‑seat hybrid SUV slated for launch next month.

The cars were transported using GAC's flat‑rack system, where vehicles are secured to a metal framework lifted by container cranes, eliminating the need for drivers to board the vessel. The company also employs a "customs clearance on water" process that allows part of the documentation and inspection to be completed while the ship is en route, shortening the time between arrival and delivery to dealerships. GAC currently holds a 0.46% share of Brazil's vehicle market, ranking 19th with 4,948 registrations in the first half of the year, and plans to begin local production next year through a partnership with HPE at the Catalão industrial complex.
