GAC slashes prices on most of Brazil lineup for PcD and taxi drivers

Chinese automaker GAC launched an aggressive July promotion in Brazil, cutting prices on almost its entire vehicle range. Discounts range from R$ 5,000 to R$ 37,000 and are targeted at people with disabilities (PcD) and taxi drivers, combining an IPI exemption with a factory bonus.

Electric Aion models received the deepest cuts: the Aion ES sedan fell from R$ 170,990 to R$ 146,990 (R$ 24,000 off); the Aion Y SUV saw its Premium version drop from R$ 175,990 to R$ 159,990 and the Elite from R$ 187,990 to R$ 167,990 (R$ 16,000‑20,000 off); the compact Aion UT hatch was reduced by R$ 5,000‑6,000. Combustion‑engine SUVs also benefitted – the GS3 Premium and GS3 Elite were cut by R$ 13,000‑14,000, while the GS4 Premium saw the largest reduction of R$ 37,000, moving from R$ 191,990 to R$ 154,990.

The price cuts keep many models under the R$ 200,000 threshold for IPI exemption, widening GAC’s competitiveness against established brands such as Chevrolet, Mitsubishi and Toyota and aiming to accelerate its market penetration in Brazil’s electric and compact SUV segments.
