GAC to launch its largest hybrid SUV, the Trumpchi Xiangwang S9, in Brazil

Chinese automaker GAC announced that it will introduce a new full‑size plug‑in hybrid SUV to the Brazilian market. The vehicle, known as the Trumpchi Xiangwang S9 in China, will be the brand’s biggest model in Brazil, measuring 5.06 m long, 1.95 m wide, 1.76 m high with a 2.93 m wheelbase and offering three rows of seating.

Powertrain options include a 1.5‑litre turbocharged engine paired with electric motors delivering 231 hp front‑wheel drive, 392 hp all‑wheel drive, and a top‑spec 501 hp version. Inside, the SUV will feature a 12.3‑inch instrument panel, a 15.6‑inch central touchscreen and a 17.3‑inch rear‑seat TV. GAC aims to position the model against rivals such as the GWM Wey 07 and BYD Atto 8, all of which use similar plug‑in hybrid systems.
