Gachiakuta manga enters indefinite hiatus with no return date

The manga series Gachiakuta, created by Kei Urana, has entered an indefinite hiatus. Following the release of chapter 173 on August 4, 2026, Kodansha and Weekly Shonen Magazine confirmed via social media that there is currently no scheduled date for the release of chapter 174.

Official communications from the publisher cite the reason for the break as “due to author’s research,” a term often used when creators investigate real-world elements to incorporate into their stories. However, the lack of a specific return date has led to various interpretations among fans, including speculation regarding the author's health or the pressures of the industry.

This is not the first interruption for the series, which saw a seven-week hiatus earlier in the year. The manga has recently seen increased popularity following an anime adaptation by Studio Bones.
