Gachon University Gil Medical Center and Mokpo Hankook Hospital partner on trauma care

Gachon University Gil Medical Center and Mokpo Hankook Hospital have entered into a formal agreement to establish a collaborative medical system for severe trauma patients. The partnership aims to improve survival rates and address regional disparities in medical services.

Key components of the agreement include the exchange of specialized medical personnel, the implementation of non-face-to-face medical consultations, and the development of an efficient patient transport system. Gachon University Gil Medical Center, which operates the Incheon Regional Trauma Center, will support Mokpo Hankook Hospital—which faces shortages of trauma specialists—through personnel exchange and potential specialist dispatching as policy conditions allow.

Additionally, the two institutions will hold monthly online conferences for trauma patient treatment, conduct real-time consultations, and utilize Doctor Helicopters for patient transport. They also plan to engage in academic exchanges to enhance the overall quality of trauma medical care.
