Gachon University Gil Medical Center hosts medical AI entrepreneurship symposium

Gachon University Gil Medical Center recently hosted a symposium titled ‘New Opportunities for Medical School Professors to Start Businesses in the Era of Medical AI Transformation.’ The event focused on how medical professionals can transition from being mere users of AI technology to becoming ‘Clinical Founders’ who define problems and lead the commercialization of AI solutions.

Speakers including CEOs from LudaCure, Kaimee, and BioNexus shared experiences regarding the development of AI-driven medical devices and research platforms. A notable case presented was the development of ‘AlphaOn,’ an AI diagnostic aid for real-time detection and analysis of lesions during gastroscopy and colonoscopy.

Panel discussions emphasized that successful medical AI entrepreneurship requires more than high-performance models; it must integrate with clinical workflows, undergo clinical validation, navigate medical device regulations, and address marketability and reimbursement issues.
