Gachon University showcases AI literacy at national exhibition
Gachon University was the only university institution to participate in the first Republic of Korea Literacy Education Policy Exhibition, held at OSCO in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province. The event, hosted by the Ministry of Education and the National Institute for Lifelong Education, commemorated the 20th anniversary of adult literacy education support projects.
Gachon University operated an independent exhibition booth titled ‘Picture Literacy Seen with the Heart and Read with the Ears.’ The booth showcased various programs developed by the university, including basic Hangul education, smart device utilization, and AI and digital literacy training. Interactive sessions included ‘Artist Note Reading Coaching’ and a traditional tea program designed to teach communication and respect.
During the opening ceremony, the ‘Arte Model Collective,’ a senior model club from Gachon University’s Incheon Citizen University, performed a fashion show themed ‘What a Wonderful World.’ The performance reinterpreted the life stories of learners found in award-winning literacy poems through walking and performance art.
Choi Mi-ri, Senior Vice President of Gachon University, stated that literacy education goes beyond reading and writing to help individuals understand the world and lead their own lives. She expressed the university's commitment to expanding lifelong education programs by sharing its educational, research, and AI resources with the local community.
