GaCo robotics team brings STEM kits to Comoros

The GaCo robotics team (Team 1629) from Garrett County Public High School has partnered with the non-profit organization AnEmpoweredGirl to deliver STEM Waypoint lessons to more than 30 students in Comoros, Africa. As part of this initiative, the team provided LEGO Top Spinner and circuit-building kits to support the curriculum, which has previously reached over 10,000 local elementary students.

In other regional news, Garrett County Public Schools is seeking substitute custodians, and the Deep Creek Lake area is preparing for the 22nd Annual Deep Creek Lake Art, Wine & Spirits Festival and a musical theatre event titled ‘Broadway’s Back in the Barn’ to support the Deep Creek Watershed Foundation.
