Gael García Bernal urges fans to demand a Werewolf by Night sequel

Gael García Bernal, star of the Marvel Studios Special Presentation ‘Werewolf by Night’, has encouraged fans to advocate for a sequel to the 2022 horror-themed production. During a Reddit Q&A session, Bernal expressed his desire to return to the role of Jack Russell, noting that the special was only a “taste” of the extensive plans originally envisioned for that corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

While the 2022 special, directed by Michael Giacchino, received critical acclaim for its unique black-and-white aesthetic and introduction of characters like Elsa Bloodstone and Man-Thing, an official sequel has not yet been announced. Bernal urged fans to “do whatever you can, whatever is in your power, to push Marvel into some sense of responsibility and also of ambition” to help realize future projects.

Director Michael Giacchino has previously indicated that he still intends to make a sequel, though development has been slow. The special remains available for streaming on Disney+.
