Gael Monfils to enter finance sector after tennis retirement

French tennis player Gael Monfils has announced his transition into the finance sector following the conclusion of his professional playing career. The 40-year-old concluded his Grand Slam career after a second-round loss at the US Open to American player Learner Tien.

Rather than pursuing coaching or sports commentary, Monfils revealed he has signed a contract to work in asset management for a company based in Switzerland. He stated, “Next year I am opening a new chapter. I am starting to work in finance. I have already signed a job contract in asset management with a company in Switzerland.”

Monfils, a former world number six and two-time Grand Slam semifinalist, noted that while he is known for his entertaining style on the court, he possesses a more serious and detail-oriented nature that will assist him in his new professional role.
