Gael Yeomans Campaign Tour and Boric Meeting Highlight Frente Amplio Leadership Race

Front‑runner Gael Yeomans and senator Diego Ibáñez toured Chile's Biobío and La Araucanía regions as part of the Frente Amplio (FA) internal election campaign. The delegation visited fire‑hit communities, met families displaced by recent wildfires, and gathered input for the list’s collective program. Yeomans emphasized the need to give more voice to regional members and to strengthen municipalist training for party officials.

Former president Gabriel Boric scheduled a meeting with the two FA leadership candidates, Yeomans and Constanza Martínez, on Wednesday. Boric said he would remain neutral in the contest, seeking to promote participation while avoiding endorsement of either side. The meeting comes amid a tense rivalry between the candidates and reflects Boric’s effort to stay above the internal dispute.
