Gaema meets with Paraná municipal managers to strengthen wildlife protection

The Specialized Action Group on Environment, Housing, and Urbanism (Gaema) of the Public Ministry of Paraná held a meeting with municipal managers from 30 cities in the Norte Pioneiro region. The gathering, held at the Institute for Research in Wildlife and Environment (Ipevs) in Cornélio Procópio, focused on developing strategies for the protection, rescue, and conservation of local wildlife.

Key topics discussed included combating irregular rural land fragmentation, strengthening environmental governance, and preserving Permanent Preservation Areas (APPs) along the Paranapanema River. Participants also reviewed the outcomes of Operation Percola IV and discussed the creation of municipal programs dedicated to wildlife protection, including legal and operational guidance for structuring such initiatives.
