Gaeta man uses metal detector to recover lost wedding rings

A 56-year-old man living in Scauri, originally from Caserta, has turned metal detecting into a specialized hobby focused on recovering lost wedding rings on the beaches of Campania, Italy.

For the past twenty years, the man has refined his skills and equipment to locate items lost in the sand and water. For the last seven years, he has utilized social media to post photographs of recovered rings, which helps him identify and return them to their rightful owners. He reports conducting approximately ten successful interventions during each summer season.

The man emphasizes that timing is critical for a successful recovery, noting that items are much easier to find if searched for within one or two days of being lost. He typically conducts his searches in the early morning when the sea is calm and prefers to work in shallow water, up to neck height.
