Gaetano Forni, agricultural history scholar, dies at 99
Gaetano Forni (1926–2026), a prominent scholar of agricultural history, rural ethnography, and agrarian museology, has passed away in Milan at the age of 99. Forni was recognized as a leading Italian expert in his field, serving as an honorary member of UNESCO’s AIMA and an Emeritus Academic of the Georgofili.
His interdisciplinary work integrated agronomy, archaeology, anthropology, and museology. One of his most significant legacies is the Museo di Storia dell'Agricoltura (MULSA) in Sant’Angelo Lodigiano, which he helped found in the 1970s to preserve Italy's extensive agricultural traditions.
