Gafisa seeks capital injection to complete delayed construction projects

Gafisa is negotiating with investors for a capital injection to complete several delayed construction projects. The company is facing a severe financial crisis, with project debts estimated at approximately R$ 500 million.

The proposed negotiations involve injecting funds directly into Special Purpose Entities (SPEs) created for specific real estate developments, rather than addressing the broader corporate debt. In exchange, investors may receive equity in these SPEs or apartments as payment.

Gafisa currently has six active construction sites, most of which are facing issues. Notable stalled or delayed projects include We Sorocaba in Rio de Janeiro, Canto in Arpoador, and Evolve Vila Mariana in São Paulo. Other developments, such as Invert Campo Belo and Vinci Moema, have faced numerous consumer complaints regarding delivery delays and poor communication.
