Gaganjot Sandhu, son of former Haryana minister, dies in Punjab
Gaganjot Sandhu, the 48-year-old son of the late former Haryana Agriculture Minister Jaswinder Singh Sandhu, died of a gunshot wound at a farmhouse in the Rupnagar district of Punjab on Friday.
Police report that Sandhu was alone at the time of the incident in Kakot village. It is suspected that he used a licensed weapon to shoot himself. Following the incident, the Ropar Sadar Police Station initiated an investigation, and a forensic team was deployed to collect evidence at the scene.
Gaganjot Sandhu had a background in local governance, having served twice as the sarpanch of Gumthala Garhu village in Haryana’s Kurukshetra district. His father, Jaswinder Singh Sandhu, was a prominent politician who served four terms as the MLA for Pehowa and held a ministerial position in the Om Prakash Chautala government before passing away in 2019.
