Gagauzia electoral commission sets 2026 election registration schedule

The Gagauzia Central Electoral Commission has established the schedule and location for receiving registration documents for candidates running for the position of Governor (Bashkan) in the upcoming elections on November 15, 2026. The registration period is set to begin on Monday, September 21, 2026, and will conclude on October 6, 2026.

Additionally, the Commission has officially included the Gagauz Popular Political Party on the list of political parties eligible to participate in the regional elections and the local referendum scheduled for late 2026. The party is led by Nicolae Dudoglo, a former Member of Parliament and three-time Mayor of Comrat. The Commission also approved the staffing structure for its administrative apparatus to facilitate the organization of the regional elections.
