Gagauzia sets donation limits for upcoming elections

The Central Electoral Commission has approved the regulations for the upcoming elections for the People's Assembly and the office of governor in Gagauzia, scheduled for November 15.

Financial contribution limits have been established for candidates and initiative groups. Individuals may donate up to six average monthly salaries, totaling 104,400 lei, with a maximum of one average monthly salary (17,400 lei) allowed in cash. Legal entities are permitted to donate up to 12 average monthly salaries, or 208,800 lei, provided the amount does not exceed 30% of their registered annual income from the previous calendar year.

Candidates for the governor position must submit their documentation to the Central Electoral Council of Gagauzia, while deputy candidates will register through one of the three first-level constituency electoral councils. Voters may use physical passports or digital identity documents recognized in the Republic of Moldova to cast their ballots.
