Gainesville man faces 132 additional child exploitation charges

Richard A. Garcia-Hernandez, a 45-year-old Gainesville man, faces 132 additional charges related to child exploitation following a forensic examination of electronic devices seized from his home.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office filed seven counts of producing child sexual abuse material and 125 counts of possessing it. Investigators allege that Garcia-Hernandez produced five videos and two images depicting the sexual abuse of two girls. One victim is the same child, under the age of 10, involved in the original investigation that led to his July arrest. Authorities believe the second victim is not from the local area.

The additional possession charges include 118 items that Garcia-Hernandez is not accused of producing, which investigators stated did not depict him or local children. The original case involves allegations of aggravated sodomy, sexual battery, grooming, and electronically sending obscene material to a child, with the alleged abuse occurring at his Waldrip Drive residence between May 2025 and late January 2026.
