Gajin svet 3 expands Slovenian film series into action-war genre

The third installment of the popular Slovenian film series, ‘Gajin svet 3’, is set to be a major release this year. The film expands the franchise from its youth-oriented roots into a high-stakes action and war drama.

The plot follows the protagonist, Gaja, as she navigates high school life before the story shifts focus to her mother, Nina, who is on a mission with Doctors Without Borders in a war zone. When Nina’s field hospital is attacked, the narrative involves the Slovenian Armed Forces, who are participating in a peacekeeping mission in a fictional country. The story also features a connection to a gangster from previous films, who is transported to the war zone under military escort to assist in the conflict.

Director Peter Bratuša recently discussed the film’s reception at the Sarajevo Film Festival, noting the positive response to the trilogy. He highlighted that while the series began with themes of internet dangers and family relationships, the third part delves into war, violence, and the resolution of conflicts.
