Gal Costa's mansion sold for R$ 6.7 million, settling inheritance dispute
The mansion where iconic Brazilian singer Gal Costa lived during her final years has been sold for R$ 6.7 million in São Paulo. The property, located in the Jardim Europa neighborhood, was originally listed for R$ 10 million in late 2024 but saw successive price reductions due to a lack of interested buyers.
The sale marks a decisive step in resolving the long-standing inheritance dispute following Costa's death in November 2022. The proceeds from the real estate transaction will be divided equally between her son, Gabriel da Costa Penna Burgos, and her widow, Wilma Petrillo.
As part of the settlement, the heirs have also divided the proceeds from the sale of two vehicles and various works of art. Notably, the rights to Gal Costa's musical catalog and artistic production will be held exclusively by her son, Gabriel. This agreement is expected to lead to the final closure of the singer's estate inventory.
