GAL Nuovo Fior d’Olivi announces €1.6 million fund for non-agricultural businesses

The GAL Nuovo Fior d’Olivi has officially released a €1.6 million multi-intervention call for proposals, published in the Official Bulletin of the Puglia Region (Burp). Part of the 2023/2027 Local Development Strategy, the initiative aims to revitalize rural centers and combat depopulation by supporting new businesses and strengthening existing ones in non-agricultural sectors.

The funding is divided into two main measures: SRE04, which focuses on non-agricultural startups, and SRD14, which targets non-agricultural productive investments in rural areas. The program is designed to assist both new entrepreneurs and established companies looking to diversify into new activities.

Eligible sectors include tourism and commercial activities to improve local hospitality, small-scale crafts related to local specialties, agricultural services for technical and environmental efficiency, innovative business services, and personal services intended to improve the quality of life in rural areas. The initiative places a specific emphasis on supporting youth and female entrepreneurship across the seven member municipalities: Bitonto, Giovinazzo, Terlizzi, Grumo Appula, Binetto, Palo del Colle, and Modugno.
