Gala Hellas holds livestock training seminar in Elassona
The Gala Hellas Livestock Cooperative held its second educational seminar for producers in Elassona, Greece. The event focused on the management and health of newborn calves, aiming to provide continuous training for cooperative members.
Key topics included the analysis of common neonatal pathologies and practical methods for calf protection. Emmanouil Kalaizakis, an Associate Professor of Ruminant Pathology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, served as a speaker.
The seminar also featured practical sessions on artificial weaning, emphasizing the proper operation and maintenance of automatic weaning machines, presented by EMMA farmsolutions. Additionally, HELIADES FarmingSolutions led a session on colostrum management, bridging scientific theory with practical application through the participation of veterinary experts and local livestock producers.
