Galacticat film festival opens 13th edition in Tàrrega

The 13th edition of Galacticat, the International Film Festival of Tàrrega and Ponent, has commenced at the Cinemes Majèstic. The festival features an extensive program including thirty feature-length documentaries and fiction films, alongside fifty short films.

The opening day was highlighted by the Catalan premiere of ‘Todos los días Domingo’, a documentary directed by Abraham López Feria that previously won the Audience Award at the Málaga Film Festival. The film follows the final days of Domingo, a former fisherman and tuna worker in Huelva, exploring themes of individual and collective memory loss and the decline of artisanal trades.

Other screenings during the opening included ‘Plató 3’ by Maria Borrell, and the fiction films ‘Laundry’ and ‘Un hombre de verdad’. The festival also includes a David Lynch retrospective and a new school-focused section called FACTS, designed to encourage debate among young viewers through documentaries.
