Galadimawa Interchange slip road reopens in Abuja
The Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Department (FEMD) has reopened the slip road at the Galadimawa Interchange, connecting the Goodluck Jonathan Expressway with Ring Road II. The road had been closed since July 7, 2026, as a precautionary measure to mitigate annual flooding that occurs during the rainy season.
FEMD Director Engr. Muhammad Dikko stated that the reopening follows the end of the rainy season. While the road is now accessible, officials noted that the Federal Capital Development Authority and Engineering Services are working to find a permanent solution to the environmental challenges causing the recurring floods.
Engr. Abdulkadir Musa of Engineering Services indicated that the reopening is intended to reduce traffic congestion on Ring Road II and Oladipo Diya Way, particularly for motorists traveling toward Airport Road.
