Galați woman ordered to pay damages over Facebook salon criticism
A woman in Galați, Romania, has been ordered by a court to pay damages after posting critical and allegedly threatening messages about a beauty salon on Facebook. The dispute originated from the client's dissatisfaction with a hair coloring service.
The salon owner, an employee, and the company managing the business filed a lawsuit, claiming the posts damaged their reputation and image. The court ruled that the woman must pay a total of 6,500 lei in damages: 2,500 lei to the owner, 2,500 lei to the employee, and 1,500 lei to the company.
In addition to the financial penalty, the court ordered the woman to publish the court's decision on the same Facebook group where the original posts were made, ensuring that users who saw the initial criticisms are informed of the legal outcome.
