Galantas Gold secures approval to reactivate Andacollo project

Galantas Gold has received authorization from Chile’s National Geology and Mining Service (Sernageomin) to reactivate its Andacollo gold project in the Coquimbo Region. This regulatory milestone allows the company to resume operations at the Ripios VII, VIII, and IX waste deposits. These facilities retain approximately 16.4 million tonnes of authorized capacity, representing 81% of the total approved volume following a suspension that began in 2016.

In Canada, Goliath Resources reported significant drilling results from its Golddigger Property in British Columbia’s Golden Triangle. The 2026 drilling program has completed 52 of 98 planned holes, with 33 of those intersecting visible gold. Notable assay results include hole GD-26-436, which returned 7.38 g/t gold equivalent over 35.7 meters.

In Chile, the Ministry of Finance is facing scrutiny regarding investment acceleration strategies. A potassium salt production plant project by Grupo Errázuriz in the Salar de Atacama was approved by the Committee of Ministers despite a negative report from Sernageomin. Critics have noted connections between the approved projects and consulting services provided by officials involved in the regulatory process.
