Galarza Racing calls for regulatory changes for Dodge Challenger
Drivers and team officials within the Turismo Carretera racing series are expressing dissatisfaction with the current regulatory framework regarding the Dodge Challenger. Marco Dianda, a driver for Galarza Racing, noted that while the car has achieved partial successes such as pole positions, it remains uncompetitive in final races. Dianda suggested that the car's performance is sufficient for mid-pack consistency but not for winning.
Ramiro Galarza, head of Galarza Racing, stated that the Dodge Challenger is the most disadvantaged model under the current rules. Despite a recent 10-kilogram weight reduction, the team argues the car remains too heavy in terms of engine, bodywork, and overall composition. Galarza has proposed minor technical adjustments, such as a slight increase in engine displacement or compression, to help the brand compete on equal terms with other manufacturers.
