Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek Announces Plan for Fifth Consecutive Title

Galatasaray club president Dursun Özbek said the team will be built to honour the club’s 121‑year history and to secure a fifth straight Süper Lig championship – the 27th league title overall. Speaking before the season’s first training session at the Kemerburgaz Metin Oktay facilities, he called for an injury‑free, fair‑play season and pledged to assemble “one of Europe’s best teams” this year.

Özbek highlighted past successful recruitment drives, recalling signings such as Gomis, Belhanda, Fernando, Feghouli, Mariano, Icardi, Osimhen, Ugurcan Çakır, Sane, Mertens and Torreira. He asserted that “no one should doubt us” and that the necessary transfers will be completed promptly. Emphasising a long‑term vision, he said the club is working to leave a stronger foundation for future generations, aiming to repeat the dominance achieved in previous title runs.

He concluded with the proverb “Ayinesi iştir kişinin, lafa bakılmaz” (one’s deeds, not words, define a person), underscoring the club’s commitment to performance over talk.
